Poison Wood Bible Quote Blending Exercise
At the beginning of the book Orleanna Price foreshadowed squabbles between her and her husband because she “married a man who could never lover [her]” (8). The only reason why she remained his wife over the years was because “it was one thing [she] was able to do each day” (8). It seams like she doesn’t want to stay married to her husband but puts up with him for her children’s sake. Nathan Price didn’t even notice the children. As he got more and more obsessed with gods will to convert the Africans “he noticed the children less and less. He was hardly a father except in the vocational sense, as a potter with clay to be molded” (98). His indifference and lack of interest in his family has driven him away from his wife and children and has started to tare the family apart.
